IPA - Innovations for Poverty Action

Dates: May 2012 – August 2012

Project: IPA, a research center based at Yale University, concentrates on the evaluation of anti-poverty initiatives, specializing in the application of the Randomized-Controlled Trial (RCT) methodology. IPA periodically inaugurates Research Initiatives - thematic focal areas with specific financial support - in an effort to develop a critical mass of studies around a particular issue.

Results:

  • Formulation of research base for new research initiative on the nexus of migration and development under the aegis of the U.S. Financial Inclusion Initiative. Critical assembly and appraisal of associated literature.
  • Personal contact with global community of involved researchers involved in the area and mapping of associated institutions.
  • Development and drafting of a concept note for presentation at all-country Director's meeting.
